Bringing hope, help, and dignity to Ugandan children and their families.
Providing training to national teachers as they look to serve their community.
Chris Gowing A Project of Short Term Missions
Dear Friends and Family,
In my more than twenty years of teaching, I have come to the realization that as much as I love teaching, I enjoy mentoring other teachers just as much. The times that I have spent with student teachers, helping them to learn teaching skills and to develop a passion for students, have been amongst the most rewarding of my career. And based upon feedback I've received, I believe that God has gifted me in this way. So it is with much excitement that I will get to embark on an amazing opportunity.
This June I am joining a team going to Uganda with Every Child Ministries. ECM is committed to offer hope, help, and dignity to children and their families in poor, underdeveloped areas. During our two weeks there, we will build relationships with national teachers at a school in the village of Naigobya, one of the poorest in the country. Unfortunately the school lacks the resources to adequately train its own teachers, so I will work with two to three teachers, demonstrating techniques and mentoring in the classroom.
I will also spend time with teachers and students outside of the classroom. Through Bible studies, chapel services, soccer games, and just talking together under a tree, I will get to know them and their culture. I look forward to sharing our belief in Christ together. My desire is to build up those involved in the ministry of ECM's work in bringing hope to the families of the village.
That's why I am asking you to partner with me through your prayers and financial support. If you would like to be in prayer for what God is doing, then send me an email at email@example.com. I have been asked to raise $2300 to cover the costs of project expenses and materials. If you would like to partner through your finances, then please do so through the ECM website. I am looking forward to sharing back with you after the trip as to how I saw God working during those two weeks.
Thank you for prayerfully considering partnering with me.
